General Theory.
TD-MR consists in the irradiation of a sample by sequences of electromagnetic pulses under the influence of a magnetic field in the “resonance condition”. In that situation, hydrogen protons in the sample absorb energy and align themselves in the magnetic field direction. When the electromagnetic pulse is removed the protons return to their previous alignment and release the energy that they had absorbed. Molecules with different hydrogen content and/or dynamics, release the energy at different rates. The decay rates are characteristic of the fluid phases, viscosity, rheological properties, and others.
